Did he resign at LaSalle? Sounds like it. Huge blow to that program.

LaSalle confirmed Tuesday night in a video release that Tom Grippa is indeed stepping down as head football coach to join Rod Huber's staff at Mount St. Joseph.

Grippa, 56, has spent the past decade atop the Lancers' program and been on the local high school football sidelines as a coach since the early 80's, including time at both Elder (1987-96) and Fairfield (1997-02).

Grippa will now move on to coach at the college level and serve as the team's offensive coordinator.

"It is a wonderful opportunity," Grippa told TSF in regards to his decision.

During his time at LaSalle's he went 59-40 overall and help the Lancers' enjoy the best decade span of football in school history.

Huber has added another local high school head coach to staff as Boone County's Rick Thompson is set to take over as the special teams' coordinator and linebackers coach.
